Scheduled to open in December 2012, Sidra will provide world class, patient-focused, clinical services for women and children, medical education, and biomedical research in an ultra-modern, all-digital facility.

Job Summary:

The Housing Coordinator acquires safe, appropriate and cost-effective housing for Sidra staff.  S/he determines the eligibility criteria for housing and housing facilities, in conjunction with the Head of Housing Services.  S/he negotiates and reviews the lease agreements, invoices and other such documentation.  S/he acts as the prime liaison with Qatar Foundation Housing department.

Key Accountabilities::

 

  • Logs existing and locates potential new housing options, arranging viewings of accommodation (including building sites).
  • Arranges for lease agreements, secures leases and ensures the executed leases and all associated documentation are filed according to department policy and entered into the database.
  • Purchases inventories for Sidra housing.
  • Prepares transitional houses, including unpacking of inventory; arranges for cleaning maintenance, gardening and shopping of essential items and consumables.
  • Inspects the housing units initially, prior to enrolment and prior to viewing by Housing Services Coordinator and/or new hire(s). Determines changes/improvements required for the housing units and reports to the Housing Services Coordinator.
  • Liaises with Qatar Foundation as required on ECCH Housing and arranges for cleaning and maintenance works for all housing units.
  • Arranges meetings with Relocation agents and Estate agents, in conjunction with the Housing Services Coordinator/Head of Housing.
  • Takes visiting candidates and new employees on housing tours as required. Provides the new employees with the necessary documents and accommodation keys.
  • Maintains a stock of transitional and longer-term housing; takes allocation data.
  • Tracks detailed information in relation to housing and utilities (i.e. electricity and water).
  • Establishes and maintains pertinent files and records.
  • Performs miscellaneous administrative tasks such as preparing agendas and minutes of meeting held with housing landlords and other memos and letters as required.
  • Ensures that confidentiality is maintained in all transactions.

In view of the developing and changing needs and opportunities within Sidra during this start-up phase, this position may perform other duties as assigned

Requirments ::

Essential:

Education & Experience

  • Diploma in administration or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience working in a similar role

Competencies / Skills

  • Knowledge of the local geography in Doha.
  • Valid Qatari driving license
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
  • Computer literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
Working Conditions:
  • Spends much of the workday in the community, with exposure to extreme heat, on a regular basis.
  • Requirement to lift furniture, shopping bags and to drive around Doha for shopping purposes with candidates/visitors or new employees.
  • On call availability by mobile phone, and early morning, evening and weekend work is required.
