Clinical Fellowship Training Program: A structured educational experience following the completion of a prerequisite Graduate Medical Education (GME) specialty training program designed to conform to the program requirements of a particular advanced specialty or sub-specialty under supervision and typically lasts 1-3 years

Clinical Fellow: A physician in a graduate medical education program who has successfully completed the eligibility requirements and acquired the board certification in the general specialty. The fellow is a physician in training in an advanced specialty/ sub-specialty program. The clinical fellow has to comply with all GME medical education policies and procedures relevant to all physicians in training (interns, residents and fellows)



Participation in fellowship training programs requires the Clinical Fellow to:

  • Provides compassionate patients’ care to the highest standards under the appropriate level of supervision while fulfilling the training and educational requirements of the fellowship program
  • Learns the appropriate indications and possible complications of testing modalities associated with this specialty including the risks and benefits and probable outcomes of treatment and non-treatment options.
  • Complies with all the curricular requirements of the fellowship training program including the on call duty hours.
  • Actively participates in the patient management prior to, during and following any patient encounter or procedure.
  • Participates in outpatient and follow up clinics.
  • Presents case studies during grand rounds and attend other conferences as required
  • Reviews and be prepared to discuss relevant literature references.
  • Presents case studies and literature reviews during the scheduled Conferences.
  • Participates in the supervision, teaching and assessment of the medical students, interns and residents rotating in that specialty.
  • Engages in meaningful research activities and support the research agenda of the clinical division/department.
  • Adheres to Sidra’s standards as they appear in the Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest policies
  • Adheres to and promotes Sidra’s Values

In view of the evolving needs and opportunities within Sidra, this position may be required to perform other duties as assigned and reporting relationships may vary.




  • MB ChB ,MBBS, MD
  • Accredited training in Pediatric Cardiology/Critical Care in country of origin or country of practice.


  • 3-5 years of residency training in Clinical Specialty

Certification and Licensure

  • A Board certification in a general pediatrics or equivalent (Preferred)
  • Valid professional License in the country of origin or country of practice in the specialty area
  • Ability to be licensed by QCHP 

Job Specific Skills and Abilities

  • Clinical competencies required by the curriculum during the residency training.
  • Demonstrates high level of judgment in clinical decision making.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
