The central Laundry and Uniform Supply Department provides all clinical fabric washing, disinfecting and refinishing services for the outpatient clinic, the hospital and uniform care for over clinical and other staff.  Equipment is automated and deliveries / collections are mechanically assisted.
The Laundry and Uniforms Tailor is responsible for the repair, maintenance and alterations of uniforms for all clinical and non-clinical staff uniforms. The Tailor is also responsible for the distribution and collection of uniforms.

  • Measures, adjusts, repairs laundry and uniforms. 
  • Manages the internal distribution and collection processes for uniforms.
  • Ensures proper returns of completed laundry and uniform.
  • Provides input to managers regarding material and equipment selection.
  • Provides technical and procedural guidance on uniform finishing
  • Ensures that hospital and departmental policy and procedures are adhered to.
  • Ensures all workplace safety incidents are documented and reported.
  • Liaises with other laundry and uniform workers.
  • Adheres to Sidra’s standards as they appear in the Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest policies
  • Adheres to and promotes Sidra’s Values


In view of the evolving needs and opportunities within Sidra, this position may be required to perform other duties as assigned and reporting relationships may vary.

  • High School graduation certificate, with relevant trade diploma
  • 2+ years’ experience as a commercial or institutional tailor  
  • Demonstrated training in management and supervision
  • Formal health and safety training
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
  • Fluency in written and spoken English


  • Experience in a large hospital or hotel with automated laundry
  • Industry certification in Tailoring
  • Documented courses in equipment safety, safe handling of laundry chemicals
