DEPARTMENT/BRANCH PROFILE:

The Biomedical Engineering department is responsible for the oversight and management of all patient care equipment and associated technology deployed at Sidra Medicine. The department provides services for the end-to end support of all clinical technology including equipment planning, selection and procurement, deployment and implementation, maintenance and support, and safe disposition. The department partners with caregivers to sustain and improve patient care and safety by providing high-value medical equipment services and seeking and developing innovative technology solutions. Responsible for providing quality and timely support by planning, organizing, controlling and coordinating medical technology within the framework of existing policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Specialist – Clinical and Technical Trainer works collaboratively with clinical staff and BME teams to design, develop, deliver, assess, evaluate and continuously improve clinical education and orientation programs for medical equipment and associated technologies in line with identified needs and to achieve policy and regulatory standards and requirements. S/he is responsible for the full coordination of all technical repair/operation related training courses for all relevant BME staff at Sidra Medicine. This includes all local and overseas technical training courses on Sidra medical equipment, as directed by the department manager/director.

 

EXPERIENCE:

ESSENTIAL

 5+ years relevant technical / clinical equipment training experience including:

  • Experience in handling multi-vendor/manufacturer equipments.

  • Experience in designing and developing Training programs for BioMedical Engineering staff

  • Experience in coordinating and managing clinical trainings for medical equipment manufacturers and suppliers.

PREFERRED

  • 7+ years relevant technical / clinical equipment training experience  including 2+ years relevant Managerial experience 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

ESSENTIAL

Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering/clinical specialty or equivalent

 AND / OR

Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering/clinical specialty area and post graduate education qualification

PREFERRED

Certification and Licensure:

Adult Educator certification

RN registration and licensure in country of origin

  • Demonstrated ability to use and facilitate e-learning

  • Excellent communication skills, written and oral

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite

  • Fluency in written and spoken English
