JOB SUMMARY:

The Clinical Staff Pharmacist – Outpatient pharmacy is responsible for providing clinical pharmacy and dispensary services on a daily basis in our outpatient pharmacy providing medication to our outpatients being seen in our specialty outpatient clinics, as well as our inpatient population at time of discharge.

The incumbent will be specifically working in the Ambulatory Services area. Ideal candidates need to have retail experience supplying medications to Children's Hospitals.

KEY ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Verifies Medication Orders for accuracy and clinical appropriateness against the inpatient record
  • Checks medications prepared by Pharmacy technicians for accuracy prior to dispensing
  • Supervises Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacy Assistants
  • Prepares Medications for Dispensing, including compounding of extemporaneous preparations
  • Provides medication counseling to patients and families
  • Dispenses Outpatient prescriptions
  • Monitors and reports adverse drug reactions
  • Precepts pharmacy students and pharmacy residents
  • Adheres to Sidra’s standards as they appear in the Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest policies.

In view of the developing and changing needs and opportunities within Sidra during this start-up phase, this position may be required to perform other duties as assigned and reporting relationships may vary

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS - SELECTION CRITERIA:

Education

  • Bsc - Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Msc, Master of Science in Pharmacy. All degrees   must have been obtained from an ACPE accredited college of Pharmacy or   equivalent.
  • Community pharmacy practice residency

Experience

  • 3+ years’ experience as a licensed/registered clinical Pharmacist after graduation from primary degree in a recognized pediatric/women's hospital .

Or

  • 5+ years’ experience as a licensed/registered clinical Pharmacist after graduation from primary degree in a recognized pediatric/women's hospital.

Ambulatory professionals requires 5+ years Pharmacy experience in a high volume retail hospital

  • Clinical pharmacy experience in a pediatric hospital setting.

Certification   and Licensure

  • Pharmacy License in the Country of Origin.  Must   obtain Qatar Pharmacy License after onboarding

 

Job   Specific Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated ability to work with Pharmacy Information Systems
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
  • Demonstrated ability to work with Pharmacy Automation

 

  • Fluent in written and spoken Arabic or other foreign language
