DEPARTMENT/BRANCH PROFILE: Reproductive Medicine is a branch of medicine that deals with prevention, diagnosis and management of reproductive problems; goals include improving or maintaining reproductive health and allowing people to have children at a time of their choosing. The management of sub fertile couples and the development of assisted reproductive technology (ART) need a multidisciplinary approach and require subspecialist training in areas such as in endocrinology, andrology, reproductive surgery, reproductive biology, genetics, psychology and early pregnancy complications. Reproductive Medicine at Sidra is intended to be the leading provider of advanced assisted reproductive technology (ART) in Qatar - a service also commonly referred to as ‘in vitro fertilization / IVF’.
JOB SUMMARY:

The Clinical Nurse Manager has 24-hour operational accountability for a specific unit/service. As a key member of the multi-disciplinary team ensures that standards for nursing care are adhered to at unit level. The Clinical Nurse Manager is fully responsible for the unit budget, patient experience and outcomes and staff performance and development. S/He works collaboratively to ensure that commissioning, recruitment, onboarding, orientation and service activation responsibilities are carried out in accordance with Sidra’s plans and timelines. The Clinical Nurse Manager is professionally accountable to the Chief Nursing Officer.

KEY ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

This post has a key role within the division coordinating the work of all nursing staff, coordinating with the clinical medical and laboratory staff to ensure a timely, high quality experience for patients undergoing assessment and treatment.

  • Plans nursing care through advanced planning of resources, leave, sickness and performance reviews in compliance with Sidra Policies and procedures

  • Works closely with clinical leaders to ensure excellent Interprofessional working and foster an open and inclusive workplace culture in line with Sidra values

  • Organizes appraisal of nursing staff and facilitate learning opportunities within and without the department

  • Will be sensitive to staff issues and notify the appropriate HR, occupational health and staff health departments in support of maintaining the morale of a healthy, enthusiastic nursing workforce.

  • Works with clinical leaders and the divisional chief on divisional strategic planning

  • Facilitates learning and research within the division in support of scientific and clinical research programs, by encouraging participation and supporting.

  • Leads, plans, implement and evaluates the nursing care and delivery at a unit level.

  • Sets and monitor performance standards against patient outcomes.

  • Monitors and implements the comprehensive unit based safety program and takes corrective action as required.

  • Establishes and analyzes areas of improvement through data to prepare necessary reports.

  • Will have in depth knowledge regarding the patient cycle protocols and provide support and management of the Nursing team.

  • Will have in depth clinical knowledge and skills relevant to all procedures done associated with Reproductive Medicine.

  • Partners with Clinical Educators in planning, implementing and Evaluation of staff education requirements.

  • Drives and implementation of patient experience principles, provides service recovery, identifies and implement continuous improvement opportunities as required.

  • Serves as a professional and clinical role model for staff and acts as an advocate for patients and their families.

  • Promote staff morale by building and maintaining relationships.

    Ensures Clinical practitioner competence and professional nursing credibility.

    Leads and manages the selection, development and retention of all staffs within the unit.

  • Monitors and analyzes performance data to ensure that unit KPIs are achieved, identifies opportunities for improvement and implements solutions.

 

Specifc Role requirements

The Nurse Manager in Reproductive Medicine at Sidra will be responsible for the following:

  • Managing and organizing the nursing team to provide the clinical and professional support to our patients receiving treatment for infertility treatment.

  • Collaborating wth the Physicians Doctors, Laboratory and support staff, to provide an exceptional level of care through every step of the patient journey.

  • To provide education to patients on their individual treatment plans,  medication instructions (schedule,dosage and administration), and provide anticipatory guidance, clarification of physician instructions.

  • Support & educate our patients through every step of their treatment  including day procedures, PACU and clinic attendance.

  • Collaborate with Reporductive Medicine team with coordination of care, working together to tailor unique plans for each patient.

  • Organise and facilitate the provision of advice and results o patients over the phone and provide support at any point required. 

Ensure the maintainance of accurate patient records and documentation
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

 

ESSENTIAL

PREFERRED

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or

(3 years Diploma in Nursing)

 

Registered Nurse

Higher nursing qualification

Experience

Extensive Clinical and Management experience (5yrs and over) within the Reproductive Medicine including experience in a new department start up.

 

Experience in perinatal and/or Women’s health nursing.

Experience in facilitating group education session an asset.

Certification and Licensure

Nurse registration

 

 

University Degree or masters in healthcare related studies

Professional Membership

Professional registration in country of origin

Member of specialized prof. group e.g.: ASRM, ESHRE
