DEPARTMENT/BRANCH PROFILE:

The Communications Department is responsible for the effective delivery of Sidra Medicine’s corporate communication goals and strategies that serve to enhance and protect the reputation of the organization. The work of the department covers a broad spectrum including internal communications, media relations, events, community relations, marketing, design and production, website and social media.  The Communications Department ensures consistent messaging and branding across all channels to positively reflect the organization’s vision and mission.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Specialist - Web Developer is responsible for the development and management of the website, through supporting the business requirements of the organization.  The Specialist - Web Developer works with multiple teams and liaises with key internal and external stakeholders to deliver the digital communications mandate of Sidra Medicine.

KEY ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Responsible for running a dynamic website supporting Sidra Medicine’s corporate objectives and emphasizing on the organization’s vision and mission.

  • Ensures that the content, aesthetics and the underlying technology of Sidra Medicine’s website, convey accurate, sensible and timely-based messages.

  • Manages website hosts, along with contract for website health, development and design work.

  • Reviews analytics and develops the site in line with findings.

  • Oversees ‘super users’ across the organization and ensures regular training is organized as required.

  • Manages contract with external suppliers/contractors to ensure contract scope is delivered.

  • Analyzes, develops and maintains dynamic user interfaces for web based products.

  • Responsible for the website’s ongoing updates:

    • Priority Pages will include International Office, Women’s Services, changes relating to Organizational Structure

    • Support to Campaigns – all campaigns content to be woven into the website to ensure alignment with marketing campaigns

    • Work close with PR/social media team to ensure alignment of content

  • Responsible for the ongoing management of the Physician and Nurse Practitioners Biographies:

    • Workflow in place to collate missing stakeholders (150+) and revise all job titles, division and departments and years of experiences (450)

    • Validating with internal stakeholders

    • Organizing visual images

    • Ensuring data base is current

  • Responsible for the management of events on the website:

    • Uploading of all courses, tours, workshops, events, symposiums, conferences

    • Developing content and visuals with leads

    • Deploying a third party for registration

  • Manages the contract with website translator to ensure ongoing manual translation is completed.

  • Enhances product robustness, performance and scalability by reviewing site analytics.

  • Provides architectural solutions and design suggestions in line with Sidra Medicine Brand guidelines.

  • Adds value by being up to date with new software, plugins and frameworks as well as technologies.

  • Develops and maintains coding standards and performs code reviews.

  • Proactive in engagement with staff across the organization for content development and amendments to ensure alignment with strategic direction.

  • Maintains regularly the site’s content to ensure web pages, documents and staff details remain accurate.

  • Maintains relationships with external stakeholders, including regular patient engagement.

  • Responsible for the final review of both English and Arabic content across the site prior to publication.

  • Adheres to Sidra’s standards as they appear in the Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest policies

In view of the evolving needs and opportunities within Sidra, this position may be required to perform other duties as assigned and reporting relationships may vary.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS – SELECTION CRITERIA:

ESSENTIAL

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications or similar discipline

  • 5+ years of experience in Digital communications

  • Proven high technical skills.

  • Demonstrated graphic design skills.

  • Clear and articulated writing and public speaking skills.

  • Demonstrated effective crisis management planning and execution skills.

  • Excellent relationship management ability.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite

  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic

PREFERRED

  • Master’s degree in Communications or similar discipline

  • Healthcare  digital communication experience highly preferred
