Once fully operational by mid-2018, Sidra Medicine will handle 275,000 outpatient appointments, 11,000 procedures, 100,000 emergency attendances and deliver over 9,000 babies per year, adding capacity to a rapidly growing population and delivering world-class specialist care.

The hospital will include 10 operating theatres, 400 beds, 100 percent single rooms with a private bathroom, a birthing center and an emergency department.


The Commercial Department contributes to the realization of Sidra’s vision by providing Commercial strategic, financial and advisory services across the organization.  Specifically to create the strategic direction and support the Clinical, Research, Corporate, and Operational management functions. The department also works with external partners, government Ministries and other commercial and non-commercial entities.


The Project Lead - Retail provides overall project leadership, management and oversight and manages projects through the entire lifecycle and ensures they are completed on time, within budget, to luxury standard and meet the projects’ objectives.  The Project Lead - Retail is responsible for successful project delivery and on-going operations.

  • Formally reviews all select retail business opportunities, internally and externally, that have department-wide impact and makes recommendations to the Executive Director – Commercial Development

  • Works with procurement to initiate Requests for Proposals based on Sidra standards; evaluates and makes recommendations to management via established policies and procedures.

  • Manages lease execution and/or agreed contractual operational and financial terms with legal services.

  • Ensures fit of vendor to Sidra environment, seeks approval from management.

  • Effectively manages the implementation of retail projects from initiation through to operations.

  • Responsible for planning, organizing and implementing all retail projects.

  • Develops work breakdown structure, detailed project plans and schedules and is accountable for monitoring and reporting on project metrics, budget, issues, risks and overall progress.

  • Monitors and ensures that all assigned projects adhere to the established project management standards and methodologies and performs required procurement, communication and human resource management activities as required. Prepares project status reports.

  • Responsible for assembling the project team, assigning individual responsibilities and identifying appropriate resources needed. Provides supervision and guidance to project team members.

  • Actively manages risks and issues, escalates to management as needed

  • Performs vendor and stakeholder management to ensure business requirements are met.

  • Manages problem resolution.

  • Works closely with internal and external stakeholders and balances competing priorities, resources, schedules and budgets; Liaises with QF Capital Planning and Ministries on design approvals and licensing.

In view of the evolving needs and opportunities within Sidra, this position may be required to perform other duties as assigned and reporting relationships may vary.






Bachelor’s Degree in business, commerce or related field



5+ years progressive experience in retail development, including experience in the luxury retail and real estate market.

  • Experience in project management, managing medium to large scale projects in retail


  • Experience in the GCC market

  • Industry knowledge of luxury retail/real estate market in the GCC


  • Demonstrated experience managing teams and/or outsourcing engagements


  • Experience in a complex matrixed environment.


  • Demonstrated leadership ability in a similar role


  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills, both written and oral


  • Demonstrated skill to communicate unique subject matter to a novice audience


  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite


  • Fluency in written and spoken English
  • Proven experience in cultivating start-up projects from concept to operations


  • Technology or healthcare industry experience


  • Demonstrated experience with Project Management tools, techniques
