Once fully operational by mid-2018, Sidra Medicine will handle 275,000 outpatient appointments, 11,000 procedures, 100,000 emergency attendances and deliver over 9,000 babies per year, adding capacity to a rapidly growing population and delivering world-class specialist care.

The hospital will include 10 operating theatres, 400 beds, 100 percent single rooms with a private bathroom, a birthing center and an emergency department.

The Scholarship Program helps students to obtain the necessary qualifications to begin a career at Sidra. Through our support and commitment to student development, our goal is to develop future leaders in Qatar in the healthcare field, and to ensure a highly skilled workforce committed to the country.

 

What does the Scholarship Program provide?

 

Provides scholarships to students, including financial and non-financial assistance, while they complete their undergraduate studies in a variety of universities in Qatar and internationally which are listed in the Ministry of Education and Higher Education’s (MOE) website.

Upon graduation, the scholarship recipients take up positions at Sidra – working towards the realization of our three essential missions: Patient Care, Medical Education and Biomedical Research.

 

Who can apply for a Scholarship?

 

Scholarships are available for Qataris and students with Qatari mothers.

Scholarships can be applied for by students studying the following types of degrees:

  • MD or equivalent
  • Bachelor (Nursing, Pharmacy, Psychology and Nutrition)
  • Allied Health Programs at CNA-Q

 

Admission requirements for Nutrition applicants

 

  • Undergraduate scholarship applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • 80% or higher on Secondry School Education Certificate (80% Math, 80% English, 80% Science)
  • Minimum English language requirements:

    • IELTS 6.0 (minimum 5.5 in each band) 
    • TOEFL PBT (paper-based test): 550
    • TOEFL iBT (internet-based test): 78
  • A letter of acceptance from a university acceptable to Sidra and in a field of study required by Sidra
  • Pass the personal interview
