The hospital will include 10 operating theatres, 400 beds, 100 percent single rooms with a private bathroom, a birthing center and an emergency department.

DEPARTMENT/BRANCH PROFILE:

The mission of the Office of Business Development is to successfully develop, lead and expand entrepreneurial activities through high value-added business development programs, partnerships, and innovative opportunities leading to revenue diversification. The singular goal of Office of Business Development is capital gains to support Sidra’s long term self-sustainability.  The key driver for self-sustainment is diversified revenue generation through business development activities.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Retail Cashier & Merchandiser will provide the high level of retail customer service expected of a premium location. They will also perform all financial transactions with customers pertaining to cash till operations, daily cashier reconciliation, and ensure accuracy of cashier functions, and restocking of Retail Merchandise display units, within the Sidra Retail Gift store located in the hospital building.

KEY ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Performs all financial transactions with customers pertaining to cash till operations, daily cashier reconciliation, and ensures accuracy of cashier functions, and restocking of Retail Merchandise display units, within the Sidra Retail Gift store located in the hospital building.

•   Greets and assists internal and external customers in a friendly, pleasant manner (the key emphasis of     the role).

•   Trains and assists temporary personnel and new joiners.

•   Coordinates the cashier’s functions to other cashiers and users.

•   Accurately and efficiently performs cashiering and back office functions for Sidra’s daily, weekly and monthly cash collections and reconciliations.

•   Records and ensures accuracy of daily cash / debits / credits.

•   Maintains records of all cash applications and cash / receipts reconciliation.

•   Responsible for the daily accurate processing of other payment means (credit cards, etc.)

•   Maintains proficiency and integrity in handling cash and applying internal controls.

•   Resolves any issues in collaboration with other stakeholders.

•   Resolves cash receipts queries with the Supervisor – Store.

•   Assists in fulfilling internal and external audit requirements and ensure the implementation of agreed audit recommendations.

•   Assists the Supervisor – Store in contributing to all management reporting functions in relation to cash receipts within the treasury activities in an accurate and timely manner.

•   Maintains a presentable and inviting display of merchandise within the store.

•   Replenish merchandise on a regular day to basis.

•   Receive merchandise stock delivered from the warehouse and decant into stock room.

•   Priority to be given to serving customers and carrying out cashier transactions, remaining time to be      spent managing merchandise in store.

•   Co-ordinates marketing and sales promotions/banners within the store and hospital premises when required.

•   Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations.

•   Covers for colleagues as required.

•   Adheres to Sidra’s standards as they appear in the Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest policies.

•   Adheres to and promotes Sidra’s Values.

 

In view of the evolving needs and opportunities within Sidra, this position may be required to perform other duties as assigned and reporting relationships may vary.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS – SELECTION CRITERIA:

 

ESSENTIAL

PREFERRED

Education

High School Diploma

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting / Finance / Business / Commerce

Experience

3+ years’ experience in retail customer service (plus cashier functions) in a mid to high end retail environment

  • Experience in cashier and / or cash managementoperations in a healthcare institute

     

  • Experience with ERP Cash Modules

Certification and Licensure

  • Knowledge of cash collection and analysis in a large organization,

     

  • Knowledge of financial analytical support

     

  • Cash / treasury relevant work experience

     

  • Report writing skills,

     

  • Knowledge of accounting principles specific to the business office,

     

  • Attention to detail, maintaining high standards of quality,
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite

     

  • Fluency in written and spoken English
  • Knowledge of Treasury / Cash Management policies and procedures

     

  • Knowledge of Accounting best practices, including IFRS

     

  • Fluency in written and spoken Arabic.
