DEPARTMENT/BRANCH PROFILE: The mission of the Office of Business Development (OBD) is to successfully develop, lead and expand entrepreneurial activities through high value-added business development programs, partnerships, and innovative opportunities leading to revenue diversification. The singular goal of OBD is capital gains to support Sidra’s long term self sustainability. The key driver for self-sustainment is diversified revenue generation through business development activities.
JOB SUMMARY: The Project Lead - Retail provides overall project leadership, management and oversight and manages projects through the entire lifecycle and ensures they are completed on time, within budget, and meet the projects’ objectives.  The project manager is responsible for successful project delivery.
  • Effectively manages the implementation of retail projects from initiation through to operations

  • Responsible for planning, organizing and implementing all assigned projects

  • Develops work breakdown structure, detailed project plans and schedules and is accountable for monitoring and reporting on project metrics, issues, risks and overall progress

  • Works with Deputy COO and ensures assigned project tasks are performed in a timely manner

  • Monitors and ensures that all assigned project adheres to the established project management standards and methodologies and performs required procurement, communication and human resource management activities as required

  • Develops and ensures required project documentation is complete

  • Responsible for assembling the project team, assigning individual responsibilities, and identifying appropriate resources needed

  • Actively manages risks and issues and when necessary, escalates issues to management for guidance and assistance

  • Prepares project status reports and analyzes project data against key process indicators to aid in the governance of the overall project management process

  • Performs vendor and stakeholder management to ensure business needs/requirements are met.

  • Manages problem resolution

  • Works closely with internal and external stakeholders and balances competing priorities, resources, schedules and budgets

  • Provides support and guidance to other project team members

  • Establishes positive relationships with business customers and provides recommendations to improve process efficiencies

  • Leads project meetings and any events/activities required to support the project

  • Adheres to Sidra’s standards as they appear in the Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest policies


In view of the evolving needs and opportunities within Sidra during this pre-operational phase, this position may be required to perform other duties as assigned and reporting relationships may vary.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, commerce or related fieldears progressive experience with 2+ years management experience in retail, including experience in the retail and real estate market in the GCC
  • Industry knowledge of the retail/Real estate market in the GCC
  • Demonstrated experience managing teams and/or outsourcing engagements experience in a complex matrixed environment
  • Demonstrated leadership ability in a similar role
  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Demonstrated skill to communicate unique subject matter to a novice audience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
  • Fluency in written and spoken English



  • MBA
  • Experience in project management, managing medium to large scale projects in retail
  • Project management PMP or similar
  • Proven experience in cultivating start-up projects from concept to operations
  • Technology or healthcare industry experience
  • Demonstrated experience with Project Management tools, techniques.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and delivering project management presentations
