DEPARTMENT/SERVICE PROFILE:

Sidra Medical & Research Center will provide world class excellence in clinical care, teaching and biomedical research for the women and children of Qatar. Sidra coordinates its services with Hamad Medical Corporation and collaborates in research and educational activity with Weill Cornell Medical College - Qatar.  The level of national interest and support in medical quality, education, innovative research and technology has already resulted in significant discoveries and highly functional research organizations that will collaborate with Sidra. Sidra offers a comprehensive range of routine and advanced services for women and children, equipped with state of the art technology in a completely digital hospital environment. Sidra is made up of services delivered in accordance with best practice standards whilst being driven by clinical evidence methodologies in a patient-centered, highly collaborative environment.  Sidra will evaluate and provide novel and upcoming therapies to our patients and participate in the development of new technologies. Sidra will provide leadership and faculty for the teaching of medical students, residents and advanced trainees, so that Sidra becomes a leader in the education of physicians, nurses and Allied Health professionals for the future. It is anticipated that, by providing specialist and subspecialist expertise in an integrated team environment and concomitantly conducting research, Sidra will become a substantive referral center for patients within and outside Qatar.


JOB SUMMARY 


The Manager - Clinical Operation works collaboratively with different pediatric emergency services within Qatar to streamline best practices among the different emergency services within the state of Qatar. The operation manager assists in promoting evidence-based practices at different pediatric emergency services. In addition, he/she leads initiatives to foster a patient family centered environment and transform care delivery. The Manager - Clinical Operation Services works collaboratively with the Director of Clinical Operations of the different PEC and insure proper communication and transfer of information, initiative, changes and practices in and out; Develops and implements system in pediatric emergency services. The primary purpose is to provide and facilitate direct and indirect provision of professional emergency care to the patients and accountability for all operational function and personnel functions in different Pediatric emergency services Within the state of Qatar

KEY ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  •  
    • Supports the Division Chief of Emergency in planning the growth and development of services across the Department of Emergency and Urgent Care
    • Liaises with other emergency providers across the country
    • Follows up with procurement to ensure availability of required stock, new capital and replacement of condemned capital in collaboration with the physician and nursing leadership, thus ensuring efficiency of the process.
    • Ensures availability of required capital and consumable stocks across pediatric emergency services
    • Ensures smooth flow of patients from and to Emergency and Urgent care and works on addressing issues of concern
    • Collaborates with regional pediatric emergency medicine services to identify opportunities for quality improvement.
    • Evaluates and makes recommendations regarding changes required, taking into account trends in demand, research, regulatory standards, clinical practice and local needs.
    • Implements approved changes and best practices identified to all other pediatric emergency services as instructed.
    • In conjunction with administrative and medical partners, ensures that continuous improvement for all activities with the goal of streamlining key processes, reducing variability in quality and improving service excellence and clinical quality.
    • Collaborates with administrative and medical partners to ensure that resources are prioritized and optimally utilized.
    • Works clinically in the regional emergency departments to determine in conjunction with each regional emergency department administrative and medical partners.
    • Drives and provides on-going training and support to regional/ area/ local distributors 
    • Supports the mission, vision and core values of the organization.
    • Promotes an environment that supports best clinical practices and fosters transformation of bedside services.
    • Manages the day-to-day function of Emergency Departments in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern these areas.
    • Performs research and analysis on specific issues as required and independently prepares non-routine reports, which may be highly sensitive and confidential in nature
    • Generates or oversees the generation of quality of presentation materials/ graphics and business reports for review/ meetings.
    • Provides and/ or oversees Analytics staff to produce data that drives the business.
    • Provides assistance on the understanding and interpretation of Sidra policies and procedures as appropriate and ensures that office operations are in compliance with policy provisions and standards.
    • Assists in the coordination, supervision, and completion of special projects as appropriate.
    • Maintains contact with the appropriate organizations and government departments in order to facilitate the exchange of information. 
    • Ensures that confidentiality is maintained in all transactions.
    • Corresponds with internal/ external stakeholders/ customers and responds to enquiries in a professional and prompt manner.
    • Liaises with internal and external stakeholders as and when required.

    In view of the evolving needs and opportunities within Sidra, this position may be required to perform other duties as assigned and reporting relationships may vary.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS – SELECTION CRITERIA:

 

ESSENTIAL

PREFERRED

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing field

    OR

    Master’s degree 

  • Post graduate specialty qualification/certification

Experience

  • 5+ years management experience including

    5+ years progressive clinical  experience in nursing
    4-5 years progressive administration experience in improving patient experience efficiency and program development

 

Certification and Licensure

  • Valid professional nursing license in country of origin
  • Meets licensing requirements of the State of Qatar
