The hospital will include 10 operating theatres, 400 beds, 100 percent single rooms with a private bathroom, a birthing center and an emergency department.

DEPARTMENT/BRANCH PROFILE: The Center for Medical Imaging Science & Technology (CMIST) is an innovation driven department with services in Machine Learning & Computer Vision,  Foundational Imaging Information Systems (FIIS), and Advanced Applications.  CMIST members are involved in both clinical support roles as well as leading innovative solutions at Sidra including 3D Printing, Rapid Prototyping, Mobile & Software Application Development.  Clinical support roles deliver services in accordance with best practice standards whilst being driven by ‘clinical evidence’ methodologies, in a patient-centered environment.  Support roles are directly related to image based departments at Sidra, which include: Radiology, Pathology, Cardiovascular Imaging, Perioperitive Imagaing, and Women’s Imaging.
JOB SUMMARY: The Analyst - ImagingDigital PATH Admin is responsible for the day to day support trouble shooting, administration and network management of the Digital Pathology Imaging, digital  Pathology viewer and Vendor Neutral Archive (VNA)Endoscopy and OR Imaging. The digital Path Admin attends to issues that arise during daily operations of the Pathology imaging Information management (FI-IM) service. The digital Path Admin takes part in implementation of Digital Pathology Imaging/VNA, including but not limited to; installation, testing and training. In each phase of Implementation. The digital Path Admin will work on system monitoring, user support, network support,  system configurations changes and modifications, trouble shooting and problem solving, maintenance and upgrading . This role will share responsibilities with PACS Admin. In addition, the digital Path Admin will provide high standard of support to all patients, parents and other hospital staff as prescribed in the patient care and facility standards set down by Sidra Medical and Research Center.
  • Responsible for the support, maintenance, troubleshooting and administration of the Digital Pathology Imaging/Endoscopic Imaging /OR Imaging/PACS/VNA and integrated Medical Imaging Systems in the supervision of the Manager Radiology Software Applications 

  • Responsible for day-to-day operation of Digital Pathology Imaging/Endoscopic Imaging /Dental Imaging, Women’s Health Imaging/CVIS/Peri-OP OR Imaging/PACS/VNA equipment including image workflow, archiving, auto-routing, and prefetching and other related activities.

  • To ensure that the optimum round the clock "Level of Service" is maintained within  prescribed SLAs.

  • To provide support and training for Clinical Professionals and End Users within Foundational Imaging hospital.

  • Daily monitoring of the Digital Pathology Imaging/Endoscopic Imaging /OR Imaging/VNA viewers and equipment to maintain data integrity.

  • Investigates, identifies, and prepares proposals to solve specific operational problems within all clinical operational areas, working closely with operations managers and division heads as well as involving the next level of administration as appropriate.

  • Works closely with Foundational services quality management personnel to identify and design future needs and efficient workflow processes, which include further integration into operations. 

  • Notifies Service desk and other service personnel of any problems and collaboratively solves those problems as needed.

  • Acts as liaison between Foundational Services  and other departments related to medical imaging initiatives and procedures and assisting with existing or new medical imaging endeavors.

  • Oversees and coordinates strategic planning for medical imaging initiatives

  • Oversees activities of vendors in all phases of installation and implementation of new systems.

  • Prepares reports for administration on all aspects of medical imaging operations as appropriate or directed.

  • Attends and participates in departmental/hospital meetings. Attends seminars and training sessions necessary to maintain appropriate level of professional competence.

  • Performs other functions as required and/or assigned.

  • Bachelor's degree in related healthcare discipline or information systems or computer sciences discipline required.
  • 3+ Years Relevant Experience working with Digital Pathology Imaging/Endoscopic Imaging /OR Imaging/PACS/VNA in in a large healthcare facility.

  • Demonstrated experience providing first line trouble shooting front line support in a Pathology,Endoscopy,OR clinical setting

  • Possesses detailed knowledge of Imaging Modalities, Digital pathology ,Endoscopy, HL7/DICOM applications

  • Eligible for certification with an accreditation board with a Professional Association relevant to training specialty.

    • Knowledge of JCI standards, IHE guidelines and initiatives to integrate the healthcare enterprise, current radiation safety guidelines and practices

    • Strong understanding of digital Pathology Imaging ncluding workflow for patients, staff, Pathologist, and referring physicians from other departments and disciplines

    • Demonstrated working knowledge of business processes and workflows of digital pathology Imaging/ Endoscopic Imaging /OR Imaging and Healthcare delivery in a large tertiary hospital environment.

    • Experiencing in daily digital Pathology,PACS Administration operations, resolving exceptions,.

    • Ability to describe issues with adequate technical detail and raise incidents with Service desk.

    • Must be able to support 24/7 and will require working shifts to provide 24/7 coverage for Inpatient services and on-call duties if required.

    • Must be able to work effectively with diverse groups of people.

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite

    • Fluency in written and spoken English



    • Trained  or Attended workshops on PACS Advanced concepts.
    • Recent and relevant experience in a a Digital Pathology Lab,Endscopic Imaging environment with Cerner and/or Phillips PACS Systems

    • Certification in Imaging Informatics (CIIP designation) OR equivalent

    • Knowledge of  Imaging Information system outside of Radiology and their architecture which are upstream and downstream to the EMR ; Including HL7, DICOM, HIS/ADT, Orders and Results, CPOE.

    • Knowledge of VNA (Vendor Neutral Archive) systems and their architecture
