Once fully operational by mid-2018, Sidra Medicine will handle 275,000 outpatient appointments, 11,000 procedures, 100,000 emergency attendances and deliver over 9,000 babies per year, adding capacity to a rapidly growing population and delivering world-class specialist care.

The hospital will include 10 operating theatres, 400 beds, 100 percent single rooms with a private bathroom, a birthing center and an emergency department.


Sidra Medical & Research Center’s Department of Ambulatory Services will provide world class excellence in clinical care, teaching and biomedical research for the women and children of Qatar.  The Department of Ambulatory Services coordinates its Patient and Family Centered Services with Hamad Medical Corporation and collaborates in research and educational activity with Weill Cornell Medical College - Qatar.  The level of national interest and support in medical quality, education, innovative research and technology has already resulted in significant discoveries and highly functional research organizations that will collaborate with Sidra.


The Senior Associate - Patient Access provides excellent patient-focused care while performing accurate and timely reception, scheduling and registration activities. The Senior Associate - Patient Access is highly experienced in Cerner Registration and Scheduling practices and is able to successfully arrange complex, multiple services. The Senior Associate - Patient Access demonstrates leadership abilities in addition to mentoring Associate – Patient Access.

  • Registration – Performs accurate & complex registrations in ambulatory locations, with a goal of exceeding service department expectations. Completes complex work queues and quality data corrections assigned by management so that Revenue Cycle operations are not delayed.
  • Patient Identification – Consistently leads Patient Identification practices through the performance of accurate medical record selection.  Reports duplicate medical record numbers to management for further investigation to support patient safety goals. Reviews and validates printed wristbands with each patient and performs biometric validation.
  • Confidentiality - Observes and maintains patient privacy and confidentiality during all Patient Access operations.
  • Insurance Eligibility – Completes insurance eligibility successfully, which may require direct contact with the insurance company to support successful financial revenue results.
  • Scanning Requirements – Accurately scans Patient Identification cards, Insurance Cards, Vaccine Records, and Newborn Birth Certificates into the medical record to support patient safety goals and successful financial revenues results. Ensures insurance information is updated and accurate for each visit.
  • Biometric Process – Responsible for consistent and methodical implementation of the biometric system in Patient Identification practices which supports patient safety goals.
  • Performs Radiology Arrivals - Accesses RadNet worklist to ensure the arrival of the patient for the technologist.
  • Safety policies and procedures - Adheres to Radiation, MRI and surgery safety policies and procedures.
  • Signatures – Thoroughly explains all registration documents and captures patient signatures. Correctly notates forms in instances where the patient signature is unobtainable. Notates when parental consent is obtained over the telephone.
  • Prepares multiple consent documents – Organizes and prepares different Radiology consents for signatures between the technologist and the patient.
  • Patient Experience – Utilizes and leads  the department inpatient communications and interactions; in all telephone, email and/or during face-to-face patient encounters.
  • Scheduling Appointments – Accurately books multiple and complex appointments for patients in accordance with hospital requirements.  Upon booking each appointment, a pre-registration is required so that finance, nurses and clinicians may complete workflow components prior to the patient’s next visit. Ensures thorough and correct entry of data and patient information which supports patient safety goals. Performs complete and methodical pre-registrations. Books complex and diverse appointments, understanding the sequence of order with respect to diagnostic preparations. Schedules according to patient preferences when available.
  • Collecting Information - Digitizes and uploads imaging studies into radiology systems and copies imaging studies onto other media – for either patient or physician. Navigates in Radiology and Surgery systems as required or for the purpose of scheduling.
  • Patient Cash Collections – Assists with change fund detail and daily deposits. Systematically processes inpatient cash collections and issues a receipt. Ensures timely notification to Patient Access management of any collection / deposit issues at the end of shift.
  • Medical Necessity – Performs Medical Necessity and collects patient due as required supporting successful revenue results. Escalates all medical necessity issues to the appropriate clinical delegate.
  • Wristbands – Leads in consistently performing Patient Identification practices, including the application of patient wristbands.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

In view of the evolving needs and opportunities within Sidra during this pre-operational phase, this position may be required to perform other duties as assigned and reporting relationships may vary.



  • High School Diploma
  • 2+ years' Cerner / Epic registration and scheduling experience
  • Ability to learn the following applications and utilize on a daily basis:
    • Biometric Application for patient identification Workflow
    • Cerner Patient Management functions (Registration & Scheduling),
    • Radnet / Surginet
    • Powerchart Order Entry
    • PACs, Document scanning into pacs
    • Medical Necessity process
    • Finance Payment System Workflows and receipting
    • Scanning documents into the PEARL record
    • Ad Hoc Transport request process
    • SMS Appointment Reminder process
    • Patient Portal Registration practices
    • MOI Data Integration workflows
    • QNB Counterfeit bill process and equipment
  • Data Entry Accuracy
  • Demonstrated understanding of Medical Terminology
  • Demonstrates experience in patient experience
  • Good Organization skills
  • Very good time management skills
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite


  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field
  • Minimum of 5 years Cerner / Epic Registration & Scheduling experience
  • CHAA Certification (NAHAM) – Certification of Healthcare Access Associate
  • NAHAM or AAHAM Certification
  • Arabic, Urdu or other language
