Once fully operational by mid-2018, Sidra Medicine will handle 275,000 outpatient appointments, 11,000 procedures, 100,000 emergency attendances and deliver over 9,000 babies per year, adding capacity to a rapidly growing population and delivering world-class specialist care.

The hospital will include 10 operating theatres, 400 beds, 100 percent single rooms with a private bathroom, a birthing center and an emergency department.

DEPARTMENT / BRANCH PROFILE:

Our interprofessional teams will work collaboratively to secure wellness optimizing patient/family outcomes to contribute to Sidra’s reputation as a high reliability organization. Clinical research focused on education, quality improvements and a culture of patient and family safety will be used to inform and guide best practice standards.

 

Sidra's Pediatric Specialty Clinics II will encompass 32 patient spaces based on 15 subspeciality programs:

  • Child Development/Child Life, including pediatric pain service
  • Child psychiatry (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services)

  • General pediatrics
  • General pediatric surgery

JOB SUMMARY:

The Clinical Nurse Leader is responsible for leading and demonstrating the provision of safe, patient and family focused quality care and providing clinical supervision to the nursing team. The Clinical Nurse Leader is a key member of the interprofessional team and ensures that standards for nursing care are adhered to at unit level while working within a shift pattern to cover the 24 hour requirements of the service as applicable. The Clinical Nurse Leader works collaboratively with the Nurse Manager to ensure that commissioning, recruitment, onboarding, orientation and service activation responsibilities are carried out in accordance with Sidra’s plans and timelines.

Sidra will open in early 2015 and the post holder will support all activities required to achieve a safe patient opening and establish operational integrity and performance.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS - SELECTION CRITERIA:

EDUCATION

Essential

  • Registered Nurse (graduate of 3 year program) 

Preferred

  • Post graduate specialty qualification/certification

EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • 4+ years of experience inclusive of 2 years progressive management experience in specialty area in a North American Academic Institution, or equivalent in UK, Republic of Ireland, EU states, South Africa, Australia or New Zealand 

CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE

Essential

  • Current Nursing License from country of origin

Preferred

  • Post graduate specialty certification

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
